Washington Hospital Healthcare System
Nancy D. Farber has served as Chief Executive Officer of Washington Hospital Healthcare System for the past 24 years. Under her leadership, the Hospital has established itself as the leading health care provider in the Bay Area and recently was honored by Healthgrades as one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States.
Since joining the Hospital in 1984, Ms. Farber has expanded numerous Hospital programs and has also established a strategic affiliation with UCSF Hospital, which brings the strengths of a leading academic medical center into the community.
While expanding health care programs for the greater community, Ms. Farber also successfully won taxpayer approval for the construction of new medical facilities which will meet the state’s stringent earthquake standards.
During her years of service, Ms. Farber has been active in the health care industry and in her local community, having previously served on numerous health care boards and committees, including the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard and the California Hospital Association Board of Directors, among others.
Ms. Farber received her Bachelor of Arts with honors from Stanford University and received a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Health.
